  1. Decompress File

  3. MacCompress will attempt to decompress only files ending in ".Z" or ".z".  Currently you may choose a file which does not end in the apprpriate suffix; nothing will be done to it.

  5. The magic field is checked so random files that are not compressed, but end in ".z" or ".Z" will not be affected.

  7. If the input file contains a resource fork, it will be copied to the output file.
  8.  
  9. The resulting output files will have type "TEXT" and creator "KAHL" (LightspeedC).  You can change these file types with DAFile, DiskTop or several other file manipulation programs.
